Pondicherry is one of the best weekend getaway places, especially when you are visiting south India. It has  some nice beaches to relax and cafes to treat yourself. I decided to take the trip and explore the city. From Chennai the trip took me two and a half hours  to reach  the main city. I had heard of the "AUROVILLE" and wanted to visit it.Auroville also known as the "SOUL OF THE CITY". The soul of the city has a magnificent lotus shaped temple called the  "MATRIMANDIR". The matrimandir was initiated by the Mother  Sri Aurobindo Ashram. The foundation stone was laid on 17th November 1973. Architect Roger Anger gave the shape of a lotus in full bloom representing divine consciousness. GYAN MUDRA This is an article on Mudras. Mudras are the certain position of fingers which when practised properly and regularly benefits the health of the overall body. These mudras can be practised with great ease at home or anywhere. The first mudra is the GYAN MUDRA - Mudra of knowledge. In this, you have to place the tip of the index finger on the tip of the thumb. The other fingers remain straight. This Mudra enhances knowledge and improves the endocrine and the pituitary gland. It also helps  in meditation This can be practised  any time, standing or sitting. PRITHVI MUDRA In this mudra, the tip of the ring finger touches the tip of the thumb, while all other fingers remain straight. It strengthens the physical and spiritual weaknesses and increases the life force. It can be practised any time of the day. IN SOLITUDE High in attitude, Stands in solitude, Majestic and  bold, At every fold. Braving the snow, And  all of it you know, Stands  a gigantic, Mountain quite romantic. Take a chance , Get on the top, You'll find yourself, Achieve what you want. For, the ladder of success, Is not easy to access, Be like the mountain, Never to be daunted.

Sunset#twilight#city# beautiful On a twilight  zone  I walked alone To see the silhouettes Forming Charming vignettes. I walked to see the sky, And clouds very high All lit to form a colour That spread all over. Over the city  walls, It was red  and orange overall, It would soon be down To be up again at dawn. Sunrise#vivekananda Rock Memorial#tourist spot#kanyakumari#south India.  The Vivekananda  Rock Memorial has one of the best  scenic views during the morning hours. The calmness of a morning is suddenly  surged with a crowd to have the first glimpse of the Rock Memorial  with the perfect rising sun  in the background.  You probably can't  miss this out if you are in Kanyakumari,  situated in the southern  most tip of India . Built in 1970 ,amid  after a lot of controversies by  the fishing  men.   The most appealing thing about the monument is  that it is not on land. It has been built  about  half a kilometre  in the sea.  You need to  take a boat to visit  it. Not forgetting,  that it was built in memory  of Swami  VIvekananda,  who attained enlightment  at this very rock.  Here the Arabian sea and the Bay of Bengal  seas me...

IN PEACE The noise that is too loud,  Is empty  and full of void,  Be calm  and charm, The world with a sound,  That is heard,  Around  the world , In  a voice  that , Can  be heard , Be  not like a thunder, Only to plunder.  Live  a life  of peace,  So that the generations , Live a life of ease. 

THROUGH  A HIGHWAY As I travel far and wide, On the roads that  guide to the lakes and rivers, and  forests and  falls,  When I stop for a breath, I can see in a narrow deep,  There are flowers That seem  like a bouquet . There is a waterfall on the curve,  Blue and  refreshing on a nerve , The air is  fragrant The wind is gentle, Then I come across the sunny path, With blazing light  from its height, Seems  like a day very bright, And shadows out of sight. It is dark and   solemn, But the stars are bright, I enter the quiet realm, Of  a  fearless night. I travel on the highway, Which ends at the bay, Then I walk along the sea, After a tiring long day. In the land of greenery and pie, Forming a bridge Between   the Earth and sky, Amidst the meadows And valleys, and shadows. When the rain stops, and you Gaze at the sky that turns blue, All the colours bright and blue, Form a wonderful arc, Amidst a little dew, And the sun brightens In no time it vanishes, But it gives me  a chance, To have a peep, Of the wonderful Rainbow.
